About the Coalition

The Far Northwest Coalition represents the interests of its member civic associations. Each has a place at the table in discussing issues of community concern. The Coalition generally arrives at a consensus and represents that position in writing or in hearings before various governments. However, members may voice a dissenting opinion if identified as their personal opinion.

The Far Northwest Coalition aims to shape land use decisions, improve our mass transit and transportation infrastructure, and acquire and improve parkland for future generations of Columbus residents. In addition, we may take stances on issues affecting public safety, drainage, utilities, refuse, community schools or a variety of other public issues.  Since zoning decisions are ultimately made by elected officials, the FNWC Board and officers work closely with Columbus officials to seek the best land use for a proposed development.

Officers are elected annually by Board members to represent our neighborhoods and interests.  Feel free to reach out to us with questions at FarNorthwestColumbus@gmail.com or stop by our monthly meetings to say hello.
